Tablets procured under the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project distributed to Primary School students

The Government of Dominica, in its continued effort to make online learning accessible to all students,  distributed tablets to students of three primary schools namely - St. Mary's Primary School, St. Martin's Primary School and the Convent Preparatory School - on Monday, November 8, 2021.

At the handing over ceremony held at the Forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, students were elated to receive these devices which were procured under the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence. 

In addressing the students, Honorable Melissa Skerrit, Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency, stated that "the continuing distribution of devices is part of the government's vision for a dynamic Dominica which empowers our citizens, in particular, the youth, with skills for success in a rapidly advancing digital economy" and "the goal is to train citizens who can  help achieve higher levels of empowerment and a stronger, more cohesive society based on sound values."

Recipients of the devices were encouraged to take care of the devices and to be responsible digital citizens by Honorable Octavia Alfred, Minister for Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence.
